| reply to hamlet Re: Why stupid F-Prot has two icons in the system tray
said by hamlet :Hi. F-Prot does show two icons by default. One is for the real time monitor and one is for the scheduler. If you right click on the scheduler icon and select "settings", you can turn off the display of the scheduler icon in the system tray. If you choose to hide the icon for scheduler, you have no convenient way to know if scheduler is running. |

Ah! That is why I didn't see two icons when I had F-Prot. I immediately turned off the scheduler. I always do that with any AV. I don't schedule any scans. I do a scan when something happens to make me feel it is needed. I haven't fully scanned this XP box in six months. -- Around 2005 a sudden spark will catalyze a Crisis mood. | I am pretty sure that even if you hide the icon, the scheduling and updating service is still working. You can access them by starting f-prot in full mode. I agree that it would be nice if all f-prot functions could be accessed via one tray icon, but maybe that will come in the next realease, whenever that is. |
