I do not need to start an argument here
It's very simple and not argumentative; you were just wrong on pricing by a factor of 125%. It's no big deal. The 5200 was used as an example. The ISP can choose one or two models to support and let you pay for it, so the cost factor/price point would be within a few dollars of the 5200 pricing even if you substituted a different brand Ethernet/USB combo.

What’s the point of owning a supercar if you can’t scare yourself stupid from time to time?

I am beginning to wonder if you work at BELL...

Again you did not read!!!:o AGAIN REGARDLESS THE MODEM I could have purchased it at least twice by even your posted prices. On the high prices!!!

Again as others posted people have paid this price for over five years without having to replace the modem. Thus paying for the modem by how much?

Not to mention I have found the price of the SIEMEN SpeedStream 5200 Ethernet + USB Bridge modem for $93.63 no sale tax as out of state and free shipping in the US. I am sure I would be able to get it cheaper, but again I never said this modem in my posts...

You say Ethernet/USB combo, well not all people need this feature, as I do not. If you can't learn to read a little then what is the point of responding to you? Maybe you need that remedy!!!

Take your own advice. It appears to be the best medicine for you.

I don't see an issue with owning your own modem nor do I think it would up the service. The tend at this time is to own your own modem. More and more companies are offering their services with the option of purchasing the modem or as some are giving you the use of the modem.

With that said the fees have been lowered. eg. Rogers offers the purchase of the modem which in return they increase the speeds but keep the price for the highspeed the same.

Doctor Olds
I need not say anymore, you just proved it!!! You made my day with that!!!

How come you got rid of you Dream Car line!!!

As I've mentioned before, Roger's charges a $10 "line access" fee if you don't have basic cable tv service. So even if you buy your modem from them, you're still paying an extra $10 a month.

hmmm...
