Faster speeds are fine, but unless cable ISP's have drastically changed their networks, it seems like they will head into congestion problems like they had 5 years ago.
Allowing a smaller and smaller number of users to saturate the bandwidth in a given area seems counter productive. I'm seeing that just with 5mbps, there are only a limited number of Internet related things that will deliver that much bandwidth consistantly. Why will giving users 2 and 3 times as much speed be any better: 1) to me? 2) to the network?
