I got the same thing where I'm at. Seems like every night this happens now days. Usually only lasts an hour or 2 though. Sucks bad for gaming though.

The Router's typcially process ICMP packets at the lowest priority for DoS etc.

I ran the All Seeing Eye to use UDP pinging to a bunch of gaming servers and I'm getting 30 ms on many servers, so the HOP 5 is not a real issue. IMHO.

P.S. I just tested a VoIP conversation with 5 people in my gaming clan and the Audio is Crystal Clear.

it affects me on all online games, pinging to them is >300 on most servers now. they supposedly have a ticket open for me but short of telling me to call ATT they can't do anything.

I did the online live chat thing and they wanted to give me the " I cant escalate your problem because your using a router blah blah blah.. have you reset your modem trip"

I pasted a couple different traceroutes to her ..

Then I said thanks, I just wanted to let them know there network was f'd up and that was all I needed .....

Absolutely..several times.
Had them ping me and they acknowledged the trouble.
Sent them tracerts too.
But then,it gets back to normal so...
There is a ticket open on this.
But still waiting for some conclusion.

YES ! I have called and made them open at least 6 tickets over the last week.
And I encourage other to do so as well the phone techs answer pretty quickly ... don't buy into talks of router or the scripts of powercycling ... we've all been down that road just make them take the info and and issue a ticket... based on this obvious "pattern".
It is at there end not our...
There is power in numbers...
And again consider posting a review or amending your current Comcast review here so we lower there undeserved Bronze Star provider service here at BBR maybe they will get a clue !

I feel better knowing at least its not just me. I've had various talks with their tech support and they had an appointment to come to my house today but nobody showed up.

Traceroute from Mountain View looks just like the ones posted above. At least I have a place to complain about it now, because comcast doesn't seem to be doing anything about it.
