1. Telnet into the SpeedStream 5100/5200 2. Upon successful login, type cfg (u may need to change the command prompt window property to allow Screen Buffer Size-Height=3000 in order to be able to scroll back to view all cfg values and variables) 3. Look for the variable "slog" as shown in the screenshot #1. Or type cfg slog to get only the slog configuration data. 4. To change/add in the value, type
cfg slog{ip#0=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
as shown in screenshot #2. 5. Type cfg sav to save the configuration after you have complete setting syslog ip address(es) that you want. 6. Setting may require reboot to take effect (cannot recall if it's a must to reboot or not). |

1. Hide Login Navigator Menu
Type cfg upro#0{acc{hlgi=y then hit ENTER
This will hide the "Login" selection in the left-hand navigator menu column
2. Hide Login User List
Type cfg upro#0{acc{nl=y then hit ENTER
This will hide the dropdown user select list, thus enforcing type in of userid i think (forgotten the details)
3. Display IP Passthru & Remote Access in Navigator Menu
Type cfg upro#0{acc{ippt=y,eras=y then hit ENTER |

I think I did more than those posted, but I never wrote down, thus...if I recall, or have new discovery, I will post it up.
Well, provided I am still on ADSL service, coz may be migrating to ADSL2+ soon, as it's juz launched over here with 10Mbps/1Mbps and 25Mbps/1Mbps ADSL2+ service this weekend. |

Take some time to analyse your 5100/5200's configuration options by using the "cfg" command after u telnet in.
Different version of the firmware part # and config part # will have different layout in its cfg.
Some options are not even available in other firmware part# and config part#... |
