| [BBTelSys] Suspicious I'm starting to become veriy suspicious of this company. Upon signing up with them, I recieved an email saying if i wanted to port an existing number i needed to fill out a form, even though i was requesting a new number. Also, the FAQ appears to be ripped from lingo, one of the questions in the FAQ even points to »www.lingo.com. Many of the questions point to portions of the website that do not exist. (which, considering it seems to be ripped from lingo, is probably why.)
They lured me in with their 'no activation no equipment charge and no shipping fee.' However if i do not recieve my equipment within the next few days, i am contacting my credit card company.
Beware of this company.

| Re: [BBTelSys] Suspicious I tried their service (as a BYOD customer) for a couple of weeks and wasn't too impressed with the sound quality.
I canceled this week and requested a refund for what I'd paid ($24.95). Got acknowledgment and confirmation via email almost immediately, with no questions asked whatsoever. To my surprise, the refund showed up on my credit card statement 2 days later.

| Re: [BBTelSys] Suspicious I think they are a very small company. I currently have Sunrocket which I really like. However, Sunrocket didn't have a rate center where I'm moving. Bbtelsys did and I ordered from them. Just hooked up the adapter about an hour ago and it works fine. When I called a CSR to check on my order, I got some girl obviously working out of her home. I could hear a TV show in the background and she offered her child a cookie in the middle of our coversation. I spoke once with Art, their tech guy and he has a great attitude and is eager to help. If you know what you're doing, it seems like a good deal. If you feel you need to call them all the time over every little thing, then I don't think they're for you. | |

| Re: [BBTelSys] Suspicious I know what I'm doing, so that wasn't my problem with them.
For the price, there are several other providers that offer a more robust product with a higher quality of sound.
Their feature set is decent, but the sound quality, although better than several other offerings out there, isn't up to my standards.

| Hahaha... PowerPig- Art isn't their tech guy - he's their CEO! I spoke with him a few weeks ago, too. He didn't say he was in charge, he acted like he was a lowly tech-support guy. I was asking a lot of technical questions, which he WAS knowledgeable about, but you'd think he would say he was the main man!
I think this is a high-quality Don Lapre-type operation...

| Re: [BBTelSys] Suspicious I sort of thought it was no more than a two or three person operation. Just an FYI, when I hooked the Bbtelsys box behind the router it wouldn't work no matter what I did. In front of the router it was fine. I even disconnected my Sunrocket box which was behind the router and it still wouldn't work. I finally took the lan out of the Sunrocket box to the wan in on the Bbtelsys box and it works fine. Call quality is great so far. | |

Wow. Art is ambitious. Most VOIPs have been in business for a very long time and are shooting for 10,000 TOTAL to get out of single-digit-thousands. This guy aims for Vonage-type numbers on a shoestring. Unrealistic numbers, even at the low end.

| Well,
P8 Support seems to chime in quite a bit, RockyBB has ties to Nuvio and helps - Why doesn't our buddy Art (or whoever is monitoring the forum from BBTelSys) stand up for their company and give us the real story.... unless we already have it!

@adelphia.net | They say they are not reselling for anyone. They claim they have their own SIP servers, etc.

| Re: [BBTelSys] Suspicious I think these guys have bitten off more than they can chew. As I said in an earlier post, the quality is fine. When I signed up the web site said they had area code 228 available. I signed up for the yearly $199 plan. They sent my box with a "temp" number in area code 205. I called and they said it would take a week to get my number. It's been three weeks with nothing but promises. That means almost a month with no usable incoming service. They promised a callback with when I would get my number twice last week and I never heard from them. I'm going to cancel and just keep my Sunrocket number with area code 703 and wait until Sunrocket starts service in 228. As far as I'm concerned, bbtelsys makes promises they can't keep. There is no way I would recommend them to anyone. | |

| Re: [BBTelSys] Suspicious Wanted to post a follow up concerning my number in 228 rate exchange. Got a call from Diane this morning with my new number and it works great. Art just called with a followup to make sure everything was fine. I have had the service for around a month and the quality has been really good. I will say that these guys have a great attitude and do their best to help you. As with any other new company, there are growing. I'm going to stick with them and have signed up for the yearly $199 package. | |
