Yeah I got this new modem with my recent order (early July). Its really tiny. So far no complaints with it.

I don't like the looks of this. IIRC, this modem has been causing quite a few issues with some Canadian DSL providers.

Just noticed some info on the Siemens 4100 at the Efficient page...There is some good info and some I would skip ... Doctor Olds See Profile stuff seems very usefull...

Bell Sympatico is using the 4200(usb)

The 4100 has new hardware but I think the GUI is the same as the 5100b.

How about it KC8TKR See Profile and Buckeye See Profile what does the GUI look like?

1.0.0.48 according to KC8TKR See Profile's dsl thread in direct... I am not sure about setting the unit horizontally..

Can you get a screen shot of the back of the unit?

Well I guess since the 4100 is about like the 5100b I guess the interfaces are exactly the same? if they are should we update the faq to reflect this?

1 edit		 It would be very smart of SBC/Efficient to keep the GUI the same and just change the hardware chipset (ADSL+stuff?).
KC8TKR See Profile has said the GUI is the same as the 5100b/PPPoE modem with some nat.

 On the general help page of the 5100b the writer calls the modem the 5100b

Can you have a look at your 4100 GUI for a similar reference?

General Help

This DSL modem is capable of operating in a variety of modes (PPP is on the modem, PPP is on the computer, Bridged Mode). The default mode is for the DSL modem to run PPP. The modem can run extensive diagnostics on your DSL service. The Advanced options are for technical support and should only be used by qualified personnel.

If you do not have the Modem Access Code that is printed on the bottom of the modem, you can still configure the modem by pressing the "Reset" button on the bottom of the modem before attempting to configure the modem.
