| Considering switching from SBC Yahoo to DSLX
Hi all, my sbc contract will be expired in 5 days. I am thinking about switching to DSLX since I had enough with the bad ping time during the night (when I am really using my dsl line). I did a little research and find out about DSLX. However, I have a few questions for any users in bay area, CA (especially Hayward/San Leandro area). Does anyone experience bad ping time from these areas (like 90-100ms to ping yahoo.com)? (I assume dslx in bayarea is using sbc service, am I right? Sorry, I know really nothing about this stuff) If not, I am more than happy to switch to DSLX, because all I want is good customer service (which DSLX is superb at it) and a stable, low ping time dsl line. One more question, if I do switch, do I qualify for the new low-price promotion? Thanks alot for reading this lengthy post. |

| reply to smallghost In most of California, DSLX is using its own routing. They are just using SBC transport to get from your home to DSLX's peering points. The route that your traffic takes to get to sites will be completely different with DSLX than it is with SBC.
Of course, DSLX's routing could be better or worse depending on the destination. In my experience they've been excellent and very pro-active about keeping things running smoothly. -- \\ROB - a part of the SCB local network |
