Why do they keep saying the SB4100 can't do more than 5.8Mbps? It can do 10Mbps without any problems, OOL proves this. |

I get 1000Kbps more on the download with a Moto SB 5100 on the Gold Tier(6Mbps currently) and around 150Kbps more on the upload then with the Moto 4100.
Moto SB 4100- Down: 5275-5350 Upload: 600-625Kbps Moto SB 5100- Down:6100-6275 Upload:750-768Kbps
There is a difference. I would think the difference would probably get bigger with higher speeds.
Signal is good.
SNR: 36dB Down power level:-9 through -4 dB Upload power level: 51 dBmV
I tested both at midnight where there would be less traffic on the sites and on my area although they don't see to change at all through the day so my node is probably not very congested. -- Freedom of expression should not be hampered by the unwillingness of others to accept things.-NinjaMaster |

| Do you have a router in the mix? There is an issue with the 4100s and 4200s and routers with 10Mbps WAN ports, and the combo not topping 5.5Mbps. I know plenty of people that have 4100s and 4200s with Comcast's 6Mbps package and get the advertised speeds all the time. |

"To all,
Apologies for the misinformation in the original post. Some of the modem information was inaccurate and the list of modems that may experiencing problems with the new speeds has been updated."
"If your current modem is not included in the list of modems above but is on the list of Approved Modems ( shown here ), you will not need to upgrade your modem in order to achieve these upcoming new speeds."
I have asked a Mod here to remove the listed modems from, the first post, since I cannot edit it any more. Sorry for the confusion. |
