said by askmrauto :Why should I let some sleezy portal company RR me. Legal issues aside, you shouldn't let anyone railroad you; however, you lose all credibility when you refer to the company in this thread as:
"sleezy portal company"
"bunch of clever marketers"
and then suggest in your other thread »Can this be true? and on your website:
"I told him instead of threating me, would it not be smarter to partner?"
"Why not partner with me and help each other out?"
So which is it, are they sleazy, clever marketers or a potential partner? |

| reply to askmrauto said by askmrauto :Secondly, I want nothing to do with their company! They had their chance and ruined it with a nasty gram. So, you were interested in entering into a business relationship with them.
said by askmrauto :If they were so interested maybe they good have written a nice letter. They did write a nice letter, nothing menacing or threatening in it. Besides, why should they have to ask you to stop violating their trademark?
said by askmrauto :Far as assets go. If they don't have enough so they are worried about me using crosswalkhosting.com to start my own web hosting company Say it with me `This is about you using a registered trademark'. It's not about greed, they didn't ask you for the domain, they simply asked you to stop using the domain name.
said by askmrauto :then they really need to think about how they screwed real Christians! Hmm, but that never comes up? Religious beliefs don't pay the bills and are irrelevant to this discussion. Just because you share the same faith doesn't give you the right to infringe upon a name they've invested in.
said by askmrauto :O'well I'm done wasting my breath! Obviously you people are not Christians and don't realize what a crumby thing they did to www.crosswalk.com. Then why did you register the domain name in the first place? Why did you think about a partnership? Your statements are becoming contradictive!

2 edits | reply to WBOTM They could have been potential partners but after they RR me that is not going to happen! They can still be a sleazy portal company and clever marketers. That is proven when the bought out the real www.crosswalk.com instead of offering to help them.
"Why not partner with me and help each other out?" was referring to they could have offered me the choice and wrote me a nice letter instead of coming off like a nasty company right off the bat. However, I'm glad I found out what I did because after reading it, it saved me from making a bad mistake!
Why did I take crosswalkhosting.com because it is a perfect name for a hosting company. If they were interested in doing hosting in the future they could have taken it. Or offered to buy it from me? You will notice on my website I clearly state I'm not affiliated with them, nor want to be after the way they threaten people.
Lastly, faith has all to do with? Do you read the bible? Do you even know famous quotes like "turn the other cheek", "forgiving you brother", "not getting involved in earthly things, etc." This discussion would have never came up if Salem helped them out instead of helping them bail out!
Anymore questions? Or can we put this to rest Johnny 5? |

What gives you the impression that they'd be interested at all? You have a domain name, a nasty attitude, and not a whole lot else. It really, really sounds like you registered the domain name just to give 'em shit.

| Dude if they would have just been nicer I would not have the nasty "attitude". Second, if I just wanted to piss them off I would have done allot worse!
Registering a domain and doing something totally different is not how piss someone off. If I wanted to piss them off I would have registered christiancrosswalk.com or something similar and do exactly what they are doing! Leaching revenue from "advertisers"
Goodnight!!! |

| How much nicer can they get? They didn't threaten to send Bubba & Co. your way. They didn't threaten you with their amazing legal team. They didn't threaten to DDoS the site til you give up. They were actually fairly nice about it.
As for the "leeching revenue from advertisers" part... what business of yours is it? They have bills to pay, so they have ads up. Again - none of your business. -- AIM | B | irc.removed.us - #dslr | Give me a ring: 718-606-4100 |

4 edits | reply to askmrauto If you specifically mentioned Crosswalk.com or anything that has to do with the site in question, before you got this letter, I think you have violated some copyrights/trademarks. If you did do the latter, it would be the same as starting, broadbandreportshosting.com or even microsofthosting.com or googlehosting.com I wasnt here long enough to see if you did steal their domain name or not, since you have taken the site down and placed an under construction up in its place. If you did, its plain wrong. If you did NOT refer to the christian site in any way, I think that you would have gotten off free. If I were to start a site, say Crosswalk.net and talked about actual pedestrian crosswalks, and pedestrian rights, im pretty sure the crosswalk.com folks wouldnt bother me,since my website didnt mention anything from their website, If I mentioned "Christians and non christians may come here," they have every right to be on my tail. Just the fact that Crosswalk.com is a christian information site, It would be wrong for me to mention anything Christian-related on my website. If Crosswalk.com has sent you a letter, and you had said NOTHING that relates to their website in ANY WAY, then its a different story.
P.S: Yes, I know that crosswalk.net has also been registered to crosswalk.com. Its an Example |

| reply to askmrauto I am a Christian and I have to say you are not a good example of one in any way.
I'm sorry but in this situation the only possible answer in any way, shape, or form is... YOU LOSE!
Better luck researching next time you start a business. |

| reply to PhoenixAZ Umm, you have a point My site is under construction and was never completed. I went into their forums and was very nice and I just stated that I was displeased about all the Christian webhosts ripping people off and I that I was working on a website geared towards Christians. However, since they are on my @ss and after I found out how they bought out the real crosswalk.com I definitely don't want to be associated with them. That is why I put the disclaimer on my site!
"Just the fact that Crosswalk.com is a Christian information site, It would be wrong for me to mention anything Christian-related on my website."
Well tell that to everyone that has crosswalk.com in their domain because everything you post is information! Sorry to break your heart! |

| Let's take the emotions out of this a bit and try to get it back to web hosting. How are things are going with your business venture?
You register the domain name with high hopes. Perhaps people over on crosswalk.com will like your name and host with you... or maybe crosswalk.com will buy the domain from you... or maybe crosswalk.com will partner with you... or just like the name and host with you.
So maybe this is your business plan: 1) Grab domain name 2) ??? 3) Profit!
Step 1 was easy. Now on to step 2: You go to their boards and post there. Whoops! They say "please don't", and mention "trademark violation". Let's just say you reacted in a way that wouldn't get you any business.
So for now now you have the domain name. You won't be partnering with them, thanks to your attitude. You don't have a site up, so no business there. You probably won't be getting business from anyone who can google your crosswalkhosting.com, because they will find this thread.
I'm having a hard time why anyone would want to partner with you or buy services from you. I don't think you were serious about this at all. All you seem to have is a domain name.
The only way any of this makes sense is if it is a troll. Nice job with that, Jared. It only cost you $8.20. |

Dude, you certainly are not acting like a Christian.
I don't know of anyone who would read this forum and then register with you.
How old are you anyway? Seriously. |

Crossandwalk.com ?

Walkacross.com...

WalkAcrossCrossWalk.com ? ... |
