This is defiantly to Belkin’s advantage --- why spend money a new firmware if theirs works better and my boxes are 25% cheaper?

| Yep, I agree to an extent. In my past experience with Netgear/ZyXEL, ZyXEL put the kabosh on using their firmware on the netgear branded box because of customer support issues.

| Ah well...that would be a shame. The Linksys firmware certainly offers better features overall, and the router logging is actually usable (although I still wish it offered the ability to autosave and/or email logs).
Hopefully Linksys won't do anything to block us from using the firmware until Sveasoft has their act together re: F5D8230-4. Then we'll have an alternate upgrade path to follow.
