| [Vonage] Linksys wrt54gp2 dead
Hi..
CAN YOU FLASH A DEAD (flashing power light) ROUTER??? I have the linksys wrt54gp2 with vonage service. I tried all the rebooting proceedures, and troubleshooting. the problem is, I can't access the router to even flash it, nor can I find the firmware to flash it. Does anyone know where I can find this firmware, and then how do i flash the dead router?
Here's the story:
This morning, I woke up with no internet service. Then, after a little investigating discovered the flashing power light on the router.

spent an hour on the cell with vonage customer service only for them to tell me what I already knew...this router is dead..either through a power spike while flashing the bios overnight or who knows..
they have offered to replace it, but at first they said they would replace it with a RT31p2 which isn't wireless... I was like, that isn't going to work since I purchased a wireless and I use that feature.
I was put on hold, he came back and said they would replace it with the same model. He said they would ship overnight, but I would have to send the old router back to them within 14 days. Then I asked who would pay for the return shipping, and he said I would.
I was not happy about that, so he switched me back to customer service and they said they would send me a shipping voucher so I wouldn't have to pay for the return shipping..
We'll see if everything goes okay. Not sure why the router died in the first place. No power outage that I know of, nothing else fried.
I guess I can't complain on the Vonage customer service IF they do everything as promised. |
