I've never had to reset it. |

| reply to Mactron said by Mactron :Do you have a noisy, marginal line? That would cause the modem to sync to a slower speed. I have synced at 3360/864 since the line was installed, and when the VZ tech changed it over to fast path the individual said the line margins were holding up great. There hasn't been any disconnect issues at all either, it's been rock solid.
Eh.. I'll wait and see if it happens again. |

| reply to Network Guy At my house, the modem is reset 2-3 times a week in the summertime and maybe once a month in the winter - by brief power outages caused by storms...
But just last week I bought a UPS for the modem/ router/ network switch. I don't yet know how long it will keep the circuit alive if we have a major hurricane blow through again that takes the grid down for days... but I'm sort of looking forward to trying out emailing and surfing in the dark (from the laptop on battery power...)

That would cause the modem to sync to a slower speed. As Bobcat said, I rarely have to reset mine. Maybe once a year when VZ does maintainance, or when I change out WAN side hardware here. -- If only the Verizon CSRs worked this well. |

| Putzing around online I noticed that the connection was a bit laggy, and pinging a few hosts I normally access confirmed that ICMP echoes were timing out on and off. Resetting the modem made the problem go away.
How often will you need to reset your CPE for things like this to go away? |
