Okay since it's pretty quiet in here, I'll start.
How much did you make on your first job?

That's a pretty personal question, I don't think you will garner much responses on that one. |

My pops doesn't really care, his salary is listed on the company website anyways. -- Women do not snore, burp, sweat or pass gas. Therefore, they must "BITCH or they will BLOW UP!" |

| reply to iLcAgAwAmAb Janitor at 4.25/hour
I worked part-time as a night janitor at 4.25/hour. At the time I also had a job on weekends as a technician at a computer store here in town for $5/hour.
Those were the days. |

| reply to iLcAgAwAmAb My first paid job was picking wild blackberries for the people who lived down the road from us. This is when my parents had a summer place in northern CA. I also did year work ( mowing the huge lawn of the same people I picked blackberries for) For the yard work I think I got like a $1 per hour and I think I got $1 per pail of blackberries. |

Of course watching out for rattlesnakes when you were picking from land was a work hazard most people don;t have to worry about. |

Well this was back in CT where it is hot and humid in the summer. Plus we were on our knees plucking the strawberries in the sun. |

| reply to iLcAgAwAmAb My first job was working at Massas Flowers Shop at the corner of Eddy and Larkin at the age of 13. Yeah it was a tough part of town. The pay of $5.25 for hard labor which was setting up the flower, moving the water buckets, unloading the flowers, anything that was too hard for him. And then it was $3.50 for easy work which was pretty much security, which meant sitting in his Blue VW Bug and just watching. Or helping him inside if things got too much.
I gained a lot from that job, too bad the shop closed. Massas is a very good family friends of ours and he comes to our house every Tuesday and Sunday. -- I am Pakistani And No! I do not own a 7/11! And my NAME is not Apu! |
