InsightBB lying again

First off I don't have insightbb anymore. I can't get it in Morton Illinois. Stuck with Verizon DSL which has one upside. The news service keeps post for about 15 days unlike InsightBB only hold 24 hours. But on to the post about InsightBB lying. I have been hearing a comercial about insightbb on the radio for the peoria area about the speed. Says download files at up to 4 megabytes a second. Now before someone tells me that it is 4 megabytes a second they better look again. The speed is 4 megabits not megabytes. Maybe someone should call bout their speed and get an upgrade. LOL

I remember hearing that commerial and just thought gimme a break...they don't even put enough effort into proofing a commercial much less a network....

4 megabytes=in my dream's

It's sad they didn't even know the difference between megaBYTES and megaBITS...

hmmmmm....Although it could be the start of a class action lawsuit...any takers?

Well I am guessing that it is nationwide. I am in Illinois and bbr says ripn location is California. If I still had Insightbb I would be calling them and demanding my 4 megabytes of download. I'm guess there are techs from insightbb that read this forum and will probably mention something about it to someone above them.

I would imagine that this is an error from a Advertising firm who don't know better. Insight needs to correct it of course, but before you get your panties in a bunch consider that.

Careful, you'll end up getting called an employee.

Naw he can't be an employee. He didn't try to deny that the commercial said that. LOL. Still though I can't see it making it on the radio without an insightbb exec proofing it. Making sure it was what they wanted. If they didn't have someone make sure it was what they wanted they made a big mistake. If I ran a big business like that I would want a few of the big guys to hear a commercial we was gonna have played on the radio to make sure it was what we wanted and that there wasn't any mistakes in it. I don't know if it was the email I sent insightbb a long time ago but something on the insightbb page seem to have changed. It used to say up to 100 times faster then dialup. I emailed them and told them that the only was it would be a 100 times faster would be a 28.8 modem. In which case most people use a 56k modem. In that case you are gonna get at least 100 times faster. Now I think it says up to 70 times faster. Haven't looked in a while cause now I am stuck with verizon dsl. 1.5/384

You make an excellent point, they should really look into this. It is not good to mislead, though the average user does not understand. They should never under estimate the power user and make sure things are above board.

ill tell you what im sick of is the ones about satellite .. umm lets see they say satellite isnt digital, they dont warranty their units and you have to wait 3 weeks and blah blah ..

first off before i moved into my apartment i put in my own satellite dish (DirecTV), and yes at one point my LNB (the arm thingy lol) did go bad after about 2 yrs i called them up and they sent someone out (mid you i live in the middle of no where at the time) that next day. The guy drove 150 miles to come fix it and guess what IT DIDNT COST ME A PENNY.

ohh btw i had zillion more channels and ALOT clearer then i do now. If my apartment lets us get satellite (it looks good btw) insight will only be internet .. now if they can fix the speed to atleast half of what they advertise.
