Here's an observation..
They updated the downloader code (version 010225) to break the LeadTek firmware from loading into the BPA410. If you try to load it, it says "download failed".
I installed firmware 13.12 (with downloader code 010221) and it let me then update the firmware with LeadTek AR16O..
Unfortunately, the thing got munged! Now, I can not access the web interface (no DHCP info from my server), and even tried to code-in a static IP address via the phone handset at boot. nada.
So, I took the cover off, looking for the ultimate solution. Staring at me is that 40-pin Host Interface. In the BPA410, I can see where most of the traces go, so I will begin mapping it out to build a programming interface. Once complete, it will read/write any DTA310 or BPA410 device. the ultimate recovery tool!
BTW, did someone post here that they were successful with the LeadTek firmware on their Packet8 BPA410 device? I would love to know what version of P8 firmware was on the thing before they put the LeadTek firmware on it.. |

| For all that this is worth:
It has been posted that holding the reset pin in with the phone off-hook, while plugging in the power cord and waiting for the first LED to start flashing, then releasing the reset pin, will make the unit start beeping.
Entering 1# will lower the beep frequency; entering another digit followed by # will further lower the beep freq; and so on, 2 more times. The unit then resets and can no longer be accessed from the web interface.
I kept playing around, and eventually found a combination (which I don't remember) which reset it all back to "normal", and I can now enter the web interface again.... |

Could you figure out the combination to make the BPA410 to gain web interface access again....? |

| If you goto the leadtek website, they do have phone commands that can be implemented to set a static ip address on the adapter. But as far as I can tell it is ineffective on a bricked bpa due to incorrect firmware being loaded. All i get is the power light and the line1 light lit. |
