If not you will need to use the TFTP program found on the Linksys web site. Exactly!! Correct on all counts. The hardware change between the V1 & V2 is the internal power supply. I've had a V1, V2, and V3.1 V2 - bought this 1st, it died mysteriously, was replaced. Internal power supply was okay. Standard 9VAC @ 1A power "brick". V1 - found it in the trash, fixed blown power supply (internal fuse was blown). One port is dead. Power supply has a vented case and is a proprietary power supply, 5VDC @ 3A. Operates the same as the V2, except this one is not dead. V3.1 - still in box, same power brick as V2. Just 6 LEDs, 1-power. 4-ports, 1-Internet. There is no diagnosic LED. Also, V1 & V2 WAN is 10mbps, V3 WAN is 100mbps. BTW, I always use the TFTP and never the web update.
