Re: Zone Alarm?

Do you mean problems with ver 6.0? If yes, no new build yet.

Re: Zone Alarm?

The fact that is not switched on as update could mean that is still not ready for wide distribution

You're right but for those of us that already jumped the gun, it is fixed.

What is the full version number of the latest patch? I downloaded and installed, last night, but this thread is making me think I still didn't get the latest release.

Thanks,
Tim

Re: Zone Alarm?

The new version number is 6.0.631.003 (I believe the old version was .002)

Yes, I was right, then. "002" is what is still on the main download link, as of last night.

I'll try again, tonight.

Thanks,
Tim

Re: Zone Alarm?

I don't know why Zonelabs doesn't release updates via its update feature in Zone Alarm Pro for a couple of days. However, Agnitum, maker of Outpost Pro, does the exact same thing. They release a revision as a direct download first and the program update feature will not pick up the new version for several days to a week. Agnitum says they do it to avoid overburdening their servers. Perhaps Zonelabs has a similar rationale.

I was able to get the .003 version last night by using the link used in this thread.

Re: Zone Alarm?

keeps server loads lower, amongst other things, if people report unforseen flaws, they simply remove it for download and don't send it to check for updates

Heck. I am still using one of the first versions of 5.5. I still don't trust the newer versions which is a shame as I was one of those that never had a problem in the early days. Now that they're trying to be the end all to be all and take care of everything, I am just not ready to commit to a change until I hear that things are really going smoothly and that some of the unneeded features for me can be switched off.

Any idea when it will be released to the servers?

Thanks!
