| Anyone use Lightning Bolt for Gaming?
I mainly use my Internet connection for gaming, so what I really need is a service that is stable, without periodic disconnects. Unfortunately, I'm not getting that from Comcast, my cable provider. I tried Verizon, and now they're having problems, too.
Anyone use Lightning Bolt for gaming? If so, what kind of connections are you getting? | | LBDSL Lightning Bolt VIP join:2002-01-07 Auburn Hills, MI
| I'm sure we have a number of users who use the connection for gaming, unfortunately, I'm not sure how many of them view this forum. You may want to try the »Covad / covad.net forum, as more of our users may be over there. (Since we are partnered with Covad) -- Lightning Bolt Technologies | | pimpdeez9

| reply to Nomaar i guess i would be considered a semi-pro gamer, and i use lbdsl in south florida. Covad has always provided me with pretty decent hops to servers around the east and central, but it all depends on the game and where u live.
First word of advice, dont go to speakeasy. There lack of hops gives u pretty bad pings, even to there own servers. I average 45-50 to chicago and ny from south florida, 25-35 to atlanta, and about 40-45 to wdc and tx. Nothing else compares because io have a few choices
adelphia has GREAT DOWNLOAD speed, like 700kb a sec, bad latency though, comcast is decent here, but its not available yet, and bellsouth routing isnt as good.
it also depends on the game. If you play games like cs:s, ur ping doesnt matter as much, so lbdsl would be great. Its actually the best priced too in my opinion.
just some advice
p.s. i hope to recieve a free month credit for giving such a great review hehehehehehehehe!! =))) | |
