Re: DGL-4300 and bittorrent

If the router is reporting that it cannot create new sessions then that means that the routing table is getting full. The only thing that will fix that is if your BitTorrent client allows you to limit the number of sources/sessions.

The bad thing is that D-Link or their chipset OEM is very vague about what the router and chipset can handle. They only say "can handle thousands of concurrent connections." If that "thousands" is only two thousand then that's not much at all.

P2P apps will consume thousands upon thousands of concurrent connections if you let them. The more concurrent connections the faster your files will download. Unfortunately, too many and your internet connection will choke and die. You will have to experiment to find a happy medium.

You will either have to limit your connections in BitTorrent or live with things the way they are now or quit using BitTorrent altogether which may not be a bad idea the way the RIAA and MPAA are really focusing on BT users.
