Re: [FireFox] Move profile didn't work I copy profiles from one PC to another or to USB drives.
After copying your profile from one PC to another PC, to get Firefox to work on the second PC with your copied profile settings you must tell Firefox where your settings are.
1. Open in Notepad your copied profile's chrome.rdf
Location Example:
C:\Documents and Settings\(The new machines XP or W2000 User account name)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\(Your profile name)\chrome\chrome.rdf
2. Use edit / replace in Notepad to replace the path that was copied from your orignal install's profile with the path to your newly copied FireFox profile.
Find Example:
C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/(Your original source XP or W2000 User account name)
/Application%20Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/
Replace Example:
C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/(The new machines XP or W2000 User account name)/Application%20Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/ |
