Awesome! I did not have any firewall running on any of the computers so that was not it, however they did eventually found each other, thanks a lot. |

| reply to Tony_M You're welcome ...
Someone did the math once, but I think it came out to 19 minutes for a Windows File and Printer Sharing (Broadcast Browser-based network) to detect a failure, force an election, and restore the network browser. That's why I say about 30 minutes -- 20 seems to close and if just one thing goes wrong ...

| reply to Tony_M When you change drivers, the system behaves as if you installed brand new hardware. So be sure that any previous settings you had for the SP2 firewall are still set. Adapter-specific settings (which usually isn't the way most people configure the firewall) would be lost.
Reboot the machines.
If the machines connect to the internet okay, then just wait about a half-hour. More than likely, they'll sort everything out. If not, then check the Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) and look for references to NETBT or BROWSER. -- Robb Topolski http://www.funchords.com/ Hillsboro, Oregon USA They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security |

| Here's what I have, a DI-624 and 2 computers with DWL-G520. Both running WinXP, D-Link latest drivers and the WPA2 update from Microsoft.
They could share drives and printer before but after moving to WPA2 they won't. They both run on static IPs and I changed nothing but the NIC driver and encryption.
Any ideas on what needs to be looked at? Thanks. |
