I've also seen spools and trucks in Malverne (along Ocean Ave., and a few other streets). Anyone know when we'll get our crappy little 1 square mile town done?

I saw a verizon truck in Lynbrook (off peninsula) a couple of weeks ago and asked if they were laying down fiber, which they confirmed they were. Being from Oceanside, I asked them if they knew when we were going to get fiber but they didn't know. The guy could only confirm that they concentrating on Lynbrook for the time being.

I had called Verizon a couple of months back when I first moved to Oceanside and it was explained to me that once our CO was wired up so would we.

the good news is that Lynbrook is the CO for Oceanside. The better news is that they have an "live" date of December 19th!

Confirmed, saw 3 trucks including the spools in Scranton Avenue last week. Any have any idea when the Lynbrook CO is going to be ready? Any other way to check for availability besides entering your phone number everyday on the website?

Per Phoneman63 via PM, Lynbrook is a carryover from 2005. Means part of the Lynbrook CO may see FIOS active later this year, with the rest being completed in early 2006, FYI!

Lynbrook C.O. covers a large area. All activity will concentrate on Malverne in September. Local politicians have finally lined their pockets and have given the OK to "lay" the fiber in a town that may have the oldest "working" copper cable in Nassau County. Hooray!!! Hurry Verizon...before they put a stop to it!$$$$$$$$$$$

As per Verizon crews pulling fibre in Elmont/Franklin Square in May, December 19th (or before) is the date that the Lynbrook CO is to be lit. Verizon just came back to my area last week to install the subscriber connection points at evey other pole, so they are making good progress in the Lynbrook CO area.
