Re: Aliitle late?

From what the people in my local office have said, as well as the tech who came and did my install, those who are currently with Adelphia will still have their Adelphia speeds/services. Anyone who signs up in what used to be an Adelphia area with either Comcast or TWC will be their customers and will be put on their speeds.

Here's to hoping that Adelphia pushes out 16/2 to the NC area.

I hope you don't actually believe this crap. They may for a while, but like every other acquisition known to man...Adelphia will be integrated to the current customers of Comcast and RR....I don't think either company will run separate systems for ever.

The best case scenario is that both RR and Comcast customers will be offered these speeds...Wouldn't count on it. All this for Adelphia is an effort to slow customer churn..Once there is no Adelphia, all bets are off...

What is RR/Comcast going to say to your new neighbor when that neighbor calls and complains why you are getting the speeds you are and he can't?

Even tho you are on roadrunner just like me we are under the franchise. When they feel they need to "increase it" they will.

Roadrunner up north and in Texas has been running 8 mbps down and 768 for some time now. Here in sc we are still on 5 mbps and 368 k up and so are alot of places. I did hear by the end of the year we would be at 8 mbps speed here if not sooner.

It is actually quite simple. When that person calls they will be told that when Adelphia was bought, existing customers were kept on a special package not available to new customers. What do you think the cable companies say when a customer calls up asking for $29.95/month service for 6 months like they do here in my area (OOL). They are told they can't get it because they already are customers of OOL. Business is business, tough luck if you are getting a crappy package.

Believe that if you want....there is a tooth fairy too...there is a fat man that comes down my chimney on Dec 24th bringing presents...

But we are not talking about the 1000 customers that took a little promotion that was run to bring in new customers..

We are talking about approximately 5,000,000 plus HSI customers...That's a lot of potential calls..

In your example, was OOL purchased by the said cable company receiving the call? ..If not, of course I would tell the customer to get bent too...

See...in my example you could possibly hear the term discrimination come in to play...People claim discrimination all the time with regard to HSI..Look at Verison and their FIOS program.

Now from a profit stand-point...Wouldn't it make since to have all of your customers on somewhat the same plan? Isn't it RR/Comcast responsibility to maximize the return on investment from purchasing Adelphia?
