""2005-08-05 19:08:15 Speed test @ dslreports.linkline.com 2856/232 kbps"". Seems like pretty decent speeds to me as far as Charter is offering in your area(Reno, NV) And your reply is??...
TCP/Web100 Network Diagnostic Tool v5.3.3e click START to begin Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 251.26Kb/s running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 2.81Mb/s Your PC is connected to a Cable/DSL modem Thats what I'm getting from Stanford University/Palo Alto, CA as of 7:51 PM 8/6/2005 Your getting good download/upload speeds-quit complaining, dude . P.S. I'm streaming KFI @ 28Kbs, as well as other apps(Desktop Weather from the weather channel, Microsoft AntiSpyware, ect.) which will give me a lower download/upload speed than what I could get-in other words my download speeds reflect what I'm doing at the moment..which is why I have broadband in the first place...so much pipe..so little usage... |

| stridr69,, you need to take off your horse-blinders and look at the entire log, not just one entry you hand picked out. Sure, the 2856/232 kbps is a good speed, but what about the following speed/connection problems BinaryXtreme had endured? Such as: 2005-08-06 02:30:45 Speed test @ dslr-west1.megapath.net 163/37 kbps 2005-08-05 17:03:04 Speed test @ dslr-west1.megapath.net 125/5 kbps 2005-08-05 11:14:06 Speed test @ dslr-west1.megapath.net 162/147 kbps 2005-08-05 01:47:15 Speed test @ dslreports-west1.speakeas 183/49 kbps 2005-08-04 22:33:44 Speed test @ dslreports.linkline.com 1718/149 kbps 2005-08-04 12:46:53 Speed test @ dslreports.linkline.com 421/36 kbps 2005-08-03 18:22:03 Speed test @ dslr-west1.megapath.net 121/8 kbps
Almost 50% of BinaryXtreme's speed tests, over a 5 day period, were the pits! And you have the nerve to ask what's wrong(?) and tell him to quit complaining(?). Sheeesh.......

| People that use speed test results as a reason to complain about their LOS are either ignorant in trouble shooting their problem(s), or just want something to complain about. Try using a trace route to the same servers and then you can really see where the problem is. It may be on Charters network but probably not. |

1 edit | reply to stridr69 My speeds are different from day to day DUDE! You are not understanding or simply can't understand simple text. Look at my tests, even Charter claims there is something very wrong with my lines, not me, CHARTER! Last time I spoke with the field supervisor on friday he monitored my line for 4 hours and agreed that they needed to send some advanced techs out to fix this problem that he was witnessing. You understand, Charter is acknowledging that they have a major problem here. Then the other guy comes in and claims anyone that uses bandwidth tests for line quality is stupid? I have %40 packet loss man. %40!!!!! So the people that have responded to this review, please call Charter for me and tell them that nothing is wrong with my connection even though they see it too, and what you think they should do. I write code all day. I administer 2 websites so it's vital I have a good connection. To end this, please tell Charter that my speeds are fine even though they, Charter, they, clocked my speeds at less, less, than 56k on my last 2 hour monitors. |

| $39.99 a month and I have my own Linksys Modem and Router. Speeds have been a little more stable for the last couple days but it's pretty clear that a problem still exists. At this point they seem to be thinking a line outside maybe the problem after our lightning storm. |
