redxiiPremium,Mod join:2001-02-26 Battle Creek, MI | Some new noticed features on DSLR I came on DSLR today and noticed a "hey mod" link on every post, even in my profile. What is up with that? -- "Oh my god! They killed Kenny!" |

That's also what the hey mods is for, if you or someone else sees something inappropriate, it can be reported (and in a much better way than before). |

OK DSLR BINGO!!!!!
Will this reduce garbage or make things even more of a popularity contest?
Could we please get away from all voting..... especially now that is totally top one sided? (at least for regs. Is this really necessary?, or does self education and local proof still work... where does it say a voter should not have a clue what they are voting about??....doesn't happen today ?....take a look aroud... FL is not ALL hanging chads!
Let Alone the choice of tweedle dee or tweedle dumb.
OH yeah...this was about why do we vote posts??? Is there going to be a Miss/Ms/Mr DSLR... or a quiz?? -- -Hayward »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West) [text was edited by author 2001-09-08 07:00:45] |

mballardPremium,ExMod 1999-03 join:1999-11-15 Los Angeles, CA | What does voting have to do with the hey mods link? The only people who can see any results of using that link are moderators, and all reported things must be acted on individually, on a case by case basis, just because someone reports something, doesn't mean anything whatsoever is going to happen. The new function was to replace the Spam/Inappropriate option with a much better/clearer/easiest to use option. |

| reply to redxii Why don't you add a topic move request? We all see those postings that would be better served in another forum, like network routers in hardware - stuff like that. Since you claim the "hey mods" link is an attempt to clear up communication, that would be a nice addition. I don't mind it since you cover it with quote: Abusing the moderation request system can result in future reports from your account being ignored.

Yes one would hope a moderator would accomplish so.... (thank god I have hung over the edge far enough Justin had never asked me....I would hate to say no to him.)
But I will not be surprised if this doesn't maybe become more of a headache than help. New warp to an old problem. -- -Hayward »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West) |

anything that makes the Mods jobs easier has to be an improvement. I have no doubt flags on threads are much better then dozens of IM's on the same subject.

| reply to redxii The "hey mods" link is a major improvement. We lost the "mods online" link months ago and this brings it back allowing anyone to report double posts, inappropriate comments, etc. in addition to spam. -- Let thy speech be better than silence, or be silent. Join Team Discovery
