Insight Student Packages

Got an advertisement from Insight in the mail today showing off some of their "Student Packages".

Package A:
Insight Digital and Broadband Plus
$70/month

Package B:
Insight Digital
$40/month

Package C:
Insight Broadband Plus
$40/month

I signed up for Package A, doesn't seem like a bad deal, $70/month for basic/classic/digital cable and the higher speed internet service (+5/month for digital box).

How does one go about getting this? And proving one is a student? Is it only college students or can people that work in education get this too?

The ad says "Valid Student ID Required". They asked me on the phone if I was a student, but they might want to see my ID when they come to install the service.

I think this ad is geared toward college students living in apartments during the school year. The phone number on the ad is 1-866-699-6684.

The prices are only good for a year, but it seems like a great deal considering the broadband plus service alone is 80 bucks.

If anyone wants to see the ad I can scan it.

Crap, living in a college town I am glad I am likely not on a node with students, just the thing to kill it, lots of college kids running p2p with the plus package to kill bandwidth. It does make me want to take a class or 2 though, that is a nice deal.

Even if you sign up for the student deal, for reason everyone I have talked was automatically signed up for the $45 4000/384 deal. They and I had to call to get it to the student 6000/512 deal.

Also, the student plan is only for 9 months. After those nine months, you will be charged the full price.
