| The simplest/best program to make backups of DVDs?
My dad is going on a business trip tomorrow and wants to take the final dvd of '24' with him, but I would like to be able to watch it while he is gone.
I've never needed to make use of our DVD burner but I do have an extra DVD+r available. What program (preferably free) can do this (in the simplest manner possible - my dad would like to use this program in the future)?
Thanks in advance. Replies ASAP would be appreciated, as he is leaving tomorrow .
Best,
Michael |

... I've never had any problems with DVD Shrink ... try the 2nd and 3rd download links (mrbass.org also has a nice little tutorial there as well) ...

said by gate1975mlm :For me AnyDvd and CloneDVD2! I have to agree. As far as simple with quality goes, that's a good combo. DVD shrink with either AnyDVD or DVDdecryptor is a good combo too, with only a slight increase in complexity due to more options.
edit: BTW, the DVD shrink/DVD decryptor combo is totally free. |

The fastest and most simple method for me has been DVDFab Platinum. »www.dvdidle.com/products.htm 2 clicks and your backing up the movie without credits, menus and trailors. Or you can just backup the whole movie. I've burnt probably 30 disks so far with this and haven't had a problem yet. Of course he was asking for free so I posted the free FAQ with the exception of Nero.

I've always used DVD Shrink alone without a single problem (I used to have DVD decrypter, but never needed to use it). Your DVD burner should have came with software to burn out DVD files. If not you can use the demo (time limited) version of Nero for free. -- Utilikilts - We Sell Freedom! |

| reply to Yahmoncool anydvd is free for 21 days and then costs about $25.00. dvd 43 is free but not updated as frequently.(seems like anydvd was updating about every 2 weeks for awhile).I did have some new movies dvd43 would not decrypt but I have never had one with anydvd. It works in the back ground as soon as a dvd is put in it does its magic.Dvdshrink shows the encryption status as not encrypted with anydvd because it is stripped away as soon as the dvd starts. |
