 gmail and smtp blocking

My sister just got insight broadband service.
She has no problems sending and receiving email using the smtp and pop servers for insight.
Her gmail accounts cannot be accessed however.
I have no problem setting up my Outlook and Thunderbird programs to send/receive email for her gmail account , but with the same settings, she cannot send or receive.
So I'm assuming insight is blocking the use of the gmail pop and smtp server.
Does anyone have any experience with this?

Your post is a little confusing but I think I understand it. Are you aware that gmail uses different ports? I think they are like 993 and 465 instead of 25 and 110. You'll want to look to be sure what they are. They also require secure connection be checked.

Yes, thanks!
I have all the settings correct. I use outlook and these settings on my box, with a different ISP and get gmail w/o problems. The same settings on my sister's box using insight bb doesn't work...

So I'm wondering if it's insight. I'll email them and see what they say.

It could also be a problem with Outlook, if it isn't updated to sp3. We'll try that too, and I'll post the results here.

I use Thunderbird to get my Insight and Gmail and I have no problem (when my connection works)

Check your setting closer for everything. Do what I do, delete the account from outlook and do it all over again using the instructions on the gmail website!!
