Some nice ideas, but we need to buy around 140 units asap. Doesn't anyone make something like this? Climate here is pretty much the same as Arizona or Northern Texas.

Do you know how hot the inside of the box is getting? Depending on the material, the radio may not be as hot as you think.
I would think John's first comment about metal would be good advice if the sun hits the antenna side of the enclosure. At the least it will cause multipath, at worst, attenuation.
