How much more USUALLY are point to point installs?

Hello WISP owners.

I am having wireless installed on a small tower on my property as its the only way I could get a signal here. I am about 7 miles from the access point and they don't think a standard installation/antenna will work. They mentioned having to do a point to point install if the signal strength wasn't good enough.

How much more is a point to point install?

What exactly is the difference between a regular installation and a point to point?

A ptp means that at put of a radio just for you. I would guess the price between $500 - $2000 depending on equipment and the bandwidth.

Well they better be leasing me the equipment then. I'm not paying for something that expensive that will probably fail 1-2 times a year

All depends on the brand and quality of the gear.

If Your provider knows what he or she is doing, it won't fail at all. Other than acts of God, those radios should be up.:)
