Re: Anyone having Linksys Router Problems?

What exactly is the problem?

Does the linksys power light come on?

Do the link lights come on for your LAN attached devices? Does the link light for the WAN (modem) come on?

Does the switch component (LAN) work ok, and you are just having problems with broadband access?

Can you ping the router from a computer?

Can you get into the router setup?

Does it acquire an IP address ok?

Does it get DNS addresses?

Can you bring up the modem status page (if your modem has this feature)?

You may also find better help for this type of problem in the linsys forum - not likely it is an OOL-specific issue.

Re: Anyone having Linksys Router Problems?

quick question, i got the wireless router from linksys and i set everything up and it works for about 30 minutes then the modem itself resets and cant regain signal for about 3 hours after i unplug it from the router and back into the computer. i saw somone mentioned something about putting the mac number into the router, that may be my problem. how do i go about doing that? thanks

Re: Anyone having Linksys Router Problems?

littlehelp - RTFM!

but really, go into setup, then advanced and click on "mac clone" tab. enter the mac address of your modem there.
