Im sorry I meant card on the actual HD itself. I think the HD is toast I put it in a external usb and it makes the same sound. My friend thinks it may be a internal electrical componant. It sounds like the HD is seeking but then it beeps. I'll try to post a sound bit soon. Trying right now to get the computer on its feet. The data is music, alot is my collection alot is hard to find. It is a very costly lesson. |

| Wow yeah, I know what you mean.....I burned all of my music on DVDs just for that reason.....sounds like you lost that HD....you know now that I think about it, I had a 120g Maxtor drive do the same thing on my wife's computer....it was driving me crazy trying to figure where that beeping was coming from....I took the box apart and unplug everything but the drive and lo and behold, that's what was making the noise....I RMA'd it back to Maxtor.
