At this time we are not offering it. We are still working with Verizon on some specifics and waiting on them. Unfortunately the process on their side has been extremely slow. Once we have more information I will let everyone know.

| reply to majortom64 Any updates? In Murrieta, FIOS is available, but if DSLX can service the line instead of Verizon, that would be great news! I'm signing up for the service for my 'rents on Tuesday (so hopefully we can get an update by then ) |

| reply to majortom64 RCN has only very small pockets of availability in California -- mostly near San Mateo. They're not really a "serious" competitor out here because of how small their footprint is. It's sorta like how no one takes Charter seriously in Northern California. They have a small pocket of service near Gilroy and that's it. The rest of their "network" is in Southern California. |

| reply to L0GiX Well, in much of SBC's territory, they have to compete with cable, and some of those cable companies have to compete with RCN. RCN is offering 10Mb/s service now and based on their trials in DC will soon offer 20Mb/s down, 2Mb/s down as their top tier. In San Francisco and Chicago, that is what SBC and Comcast's competition is offering. It will be interesting to see if the ever respond.

Any word on availability of DHCP instead of PPPoE on FIOS? FIOS TV over DSL Extreme? I'd really much rather deal with you guys! |

| reply to majortom64 Sucks that I'm in the same boat as "emt1 @covad.net". I'd really like to see FIOS but then again I hear SBC is going to roll out ADSL2+ or something somewhere time (in the distant) future. -- The first anime convention in San Francisco. |

| reply to dslx_gm George,
Do you guys have service on the east coast anywhere? I know my folks are in Verizon territory, and they do qualify for FIOS. They are looking to get broadband soon, and if you guys can service the east coast, I'll have them wait until you do.
Thanks, Josh -- $(perl -e 'print pack("H*","6d616e207065726c0a")') |

| reply to majortom64 Hi majortom64 -
Our first test order was installed on August 5th and has been working smoothly thus far. The test line is running on the 15000/2000 package and getting speeds of approximately 13,500/1800.
Verizon has recently informed us of some changes in the way that the product will be offered due to some network changes on their end. I do not have specific information at this time but hope to have some more specific information later this week or next week. Once I have that information I will update everyone.
Once the product is rolled out it will be offered in all Verizon areas that we service that are fiber capable.
Thanks -- George General Manager DSLExtreme Will work for reviews. |
