Re: SB4100 Upgraded and now router don't work

So, I've noticed that my modem is still using DOCSIS 1.0, and I think this is the reason I keep disconnecting every 30 minutes or so.

How do I update to DOCSIS1.1 ?

All,

The SB3100, SB4100, and SB4101 needed to have their Digital Certificates updates. This was required to run with BPI+. This feature is part of DOCSIS 1.1. In order to get your modem upgraded to DOCSIS 1.1 the Digitial Certificates had to be updated on the modem. This is what you are seeing in the modem logs. No concerns needed.
so how do i go about updating my digital certificates?

Ahh, so I was right; the same thing that happened when we tried to enable BPI+ happened to you guys. Kudos to our engineers for field testing the firmware updates before pushing it to every CMTS...

Since you are in a different area it seems that Comcast has rolled out a new firmware for the SB4100 across different regions. I have noticed different log messages as well, the following ones in particular:

8-Debug M570.2 Motorola CM certificate present
8-Debug M571.7 CM Cert Upgrade Enabled. AutoRun after Reg or via SNMP
8-Debug I503.0 Cable Modem is OPERATIONAL
7-Information B401.0 Authorized

For some reason I seem to remember the 10/100 Ethernet subject but it might have been related to something else. Even if that's not the problem there is something that the new firmware does not like with some routers. Hopefully it is not some new tricky way of Comcast to disable routers.

My old router was a Nexland ISB Pro800 and the new router is a Xincom DP-502.

Maybe a Comcast tech could shed some light on this?
