I WANT my machine to be visible from the net

Hello, I got blueyonder BB with a surfboard modem and mentor/linksys 4 port router. No matter what I do with firewalls, I cannot get a reply from canyouseeme.org or dslreports.com/scan - this may be desireable to some, but I am trying to set up my own web server - many nights have been spent in front the PC with eyes stinging trying to sort this - please, if another person mentions port forwarding, Im gonna dig a hole and bury the router hahaha - seriously though, port forwarding has been played with for hours to no avail - anyone got any good info???

Do they leave the ports for website hosting open at blue yonder?
