For whatever it's worth, I've used the Trend Micro scan in the past, but for the past few months I've been unable to even get the page to load. It stalls in IE with 16 items remaining to load.
If it were simply an Active X issue, I'd expect a typical message that an Active X applet needs to be installed for the scan to run. Other online scans do in fact give this message if you forget to allow the Active X install.
Now, mysteriously, and rather ironically, while writing this very post, the Trend Micro scanning engine has initiated "Active Update" and has installed. This confirms to me that it is NOT an Active X issue. But why after several unsuccessful months did it choose this very moment to work I wonder?
