| Re: comcast interview monday said by mikedz4 : What kind of discounts do comcast employees get? Quite a lot actually. You do get digital tv plus all premiums free, half off additional converters beyond the 1st digital box, half off PPV, free silver internet and half off phone service.
Do they get a discount on cell phone service or equipment/accessories? I know they get a discount on Nextel service, 20% off service and a flat rate on phones. And I am pretty sure you still get a 14% discount with Sprint.

But from what I have read their corporate discounts suck. But to get the discount with any company the account will have to be in your name. So your parents won't get the discount unless they change it over to your name.

| Re: comcast interview monday It all depends on how many other people they are looking at bringing it. You could be hired site on scene, or be asked to come back for a second interview.
As for schedule, you work around their schedule. Since you'll be a new employee, you'll more than likely be stuck with the crappiest shift. You bid on a shift, and people with the most seniority are given it first and it goes down from there.

| Re: comcast interview monday said by mikedz4 :So basically they won't hire me because of my school schedule? It's hard to tell. It depends on what position they hire you for. If they offer you a more flexible position, say in a warehouse, then you might get hired. But if they tell you all that they have open is the graveyard CSR shift and have school starting at 8am, you might have a hard time dealing with it and have to pass.
Also does the comcast account have to be switched from my dad's name to mine for me to get the discount on services? If Comcast gets a Cingular discount, yes, it would have to be in your name for him to get a discount. It works this way for all companies.
Will I get to test new services if I am hired or how does that work? Not likely. VOD was but things like faster speeds and stuff aren't for the most part. Usually things like that are left to management and engineering to test.
In all honesty, you're jumping the gun here. You should just wait till the interview is over with and see. Every area has different policies for hiring, and once you are hired they'll give a packet with all the info about the benefits and whatnot.

But clear out the door you get all prems, a digital conv, internet all free. Everything else is full or somewhat discounted. -- The ScreenSavers PODCAST! TWIT Everytime I post "SYSTEM" sends me a little "Thank You.."

Free cable/digi. First 2 converters free, full price each additional PPV movies half off PPV Events UP TO half off Free Basic Internet $10 upgrade on higher tiers $10 home networking Free Installation Full Price DVR Full Price HD $25 credit on Digital telephone service (voip? dunno) Availability of service depend on market. Not all markets allow employees to have all services at this time.
Accoutns MUST be in good standing/paid off before converting to employee and must be converter/or in employee name.
There are a TON of other benefits including the usual Ford and GMC buyers club.
The benes are great. | |

| Re: comcast interview monday Video and HSI would definately have to be in your name. I know a few people who are in apartments that don't allow cable to they have to get satellite but then they have their free service set up at their parents place or something like that which is technically a no-no but the account is in the employee's name so it hasn't been a problem. | |
|

join:2003-04-14 Weirton, WV | ok that would be simple. If I get hired I'm sure my parents would have no problem switching service to my name. My credit might require a deposit though or doesn't your credit matter if you are hired by comcast?

| I hope that in the interview you have more specific questions/answers directed towards the possible job requirements, and the company needs. You appear to only be interested in how many and what discounts they will offer you. Buddy, you are applying for a JOB, brush up on your presentation skills;
IE why do you want to work for this company? what assets and benefits do you have that the other applicants do not? Far more important, why should they hire you? Good luck and be prepared to offer the company more of yourself than what freebies they will offer you. Trust me, Comcast is providing the job interview, not the other way around...........

| found out yesterday that there is a discount of 15% from Cingular. I'm going to the local store to have it added today. All the others that have responded have gotten it right. Fully loaded cable TV is free. PPV is 1/2 regular price. Digital phone service is roughly $25 off.(not VOIP) Basic internet is free. higher speed tier is $10/month. DVR is $10/month. HD has no extra charge. Here is what our latest bill says to make it completely clear:
08/04 - 09/03 WWE Vengeance Start 7:30 P.M. 17.48 08/04 - 09/03 Video A/O .00 08/04 - 09/03 IN Home Wire Maintenance 2.95 08/04 - 09/03 DVR Service 9.95 08/04 - 09/03 Employee 8mg Speed Tier 10.00 08/04 - 09/03 Employee Basic .00 08/04 - 09/03 Employee Expanded Basic .00 08/04 - 09/03 Employee HBO .00 08/04 - 09/03 Employee Showtime .00 08/04 - 09/03 Employee Cinemax .00 08/04 - 09/03 Employee TMC .00 08/04 - 09/03 Employee STARZ .00 08/04 - 09/03 Employee Digital Chnls .00 08/04 - 09/03 Digital Service 5.99 08/04 - 09/03 Service Discount -5.99 08/04 - 09/03 Add Digital Outlet Svc 5.99 08/04 - 09/03 Add Digital Outlet Svc 5.99 08/04 - 09/03 Service Discount -5.99
we have 3 boxes, one 6412 DVR and two regular digital boxes. notice the WWE PPV at the top. The price is half of the normal $34.99 that everyone else pays. All PPVs are that way. With all services and fees and all that jazz, our entire bill for the month is $50.02. Take off the $17.49 for the PPV and that gives you the total for pretty much everything they have to offer for Internet and TV in the $32.50 range. We also have digital phone service that comes out to roughly $30/month with long distance at 7 cents a minute. VOIP is coming soon, but I don't know what the discounts are yet. What office are you interviewing at and for what position?
