 | Vbuzzer on DTA310 Has anyone gotten a DTA310 to work with Vbuzzer using the Leadtek firmware? If so can you share your settings... |
|
 | I found their forums (just by trying adding /forum to their url) it wasn't posted.

1 edit | reply to Packetloss I love being the only one that replies to my post, I found out how to make Vbuzzer work with the DTA310
I had to do a hard reset, I think some settings where stuck in it from Voipbuster setup I was using (using a paper clip and pressing the reset button while plugging in the power).
I used vbuzzer.com for the server & domain then my user vbuzzer name for phone number, display number and user name field and then my vbuzzer password for password
Then under the NAT tab I enabled use STUN server and used : stun.softjoys.com
It works like a charm, the only codecs I have enabled is 711a & u (the default ones)
Sound quality was great the times I tested it. 1 cent per minute no monthly fee, it this company stays in business and the quality stays then I'll stick with them.
I will set up my Supra next (but it is confirmed Vbuzzer work with Surpas already)
I also got SJPhone to work with Vbuzzer with no problems.
After the Supra I may test Asterisk. |
|
 | Thanks for the post, I love SIP.
Tried with my ATA186, worked too. |
|
 | I am glad it helped someone...
Another interesting thing I found out, Vbuzzer is portable, I copied the installed directory Vbuzzer to a flash drive too it to work and it ran without any issue... |
|
 | reply to Packetloss it seems that vbuzzer forum is up but no activities yet.

I also read that they changed the SIP port to 5090, and I tested with my Sipura and it worked (when registering with 5060 the login failed). I guess you need to change the DTA310 configuration too.
Now my china contacts can log in Vbuzzer, previously they can't. Maybe that's why Vbuzzer changed the port number? But it's hard to imagine why China ISP is blocking 5060. |
|
 | reply to Packetloss I like vbuzzer so far. Inexpensive, quick to set up, call quality is very good. For outgoing calls (who wants an Ontario DID except Ontarians?) it seems so far to be well worth it. Can't figure out why they now are using port 5090 either. |
|
 | Which codec is vbuzzer using?
-er |
|
 | Ejrobison >>> 711a & u (alwaw & ulaw) as posted above on the 3 post
Call quality has been great, I haven't tried it in 2 days or do, so I do not know if the port number affected the DTA, if so I'll pipe in 5090 for the sip port. |

 | reply to prestonlewis Vbuzzer seems to have US area codes available, didn't find them last week but after a new check, it is there now. |

|
 | Bodosom, you can't see it on their web, but you can upgrade your plan, I did so with "unlimited US & Canada" (before I was on the per minute), then they give you the area codes to choose from. I guess you need to put a little money first otherwise they won't let you go through. I put $20 the other day that's why I can go through, - already got some messages from other contacts that they can't go through to get a number due to the lack of credit. |

1 edit | reply to Packetloss Could you be more specific on how to "upgrade" the plan? I don't see that in my account. I do see they have added DIDs in other Provinces like BC, PQ, and AB (British Columbia, Quebec, and Alberta) and what looks like a CN 800 number.
Edit: I was browsing around the vbuzzer site and still can't fine an "upgrade" page but I did find this in a FAQ page:
"The following area codes are available now: Canada 416 USA 202, 212, 248, 305, 310, 312, 347, 407, 408, 415, 425, 617, 646, 650, 678, 786, 858, 863, 949"
Here's the link: »www.vbuzzer.com/area_codes.php
A link for the upgrade page would be nice if someone could post it. |

yuri123 join:2005-03-11 North York, ON | reply to Packetloss Does somebody know about their voicemail? Where I can find it? On thier webpage it is stated: Vbuzzer Softphone is always free. With it, you get:
* An internal number which will be used for future services * Free internet calls to other Vbuzzer users * Voice mail as an email attachment * Five ring tones
I'm on 30 day trial right now. |

illekPremium join:2005-03-23 Tulsa, OK | reply to Packetloss I have serious doubts as to how long they can remain this open. At $7.95/mth, it will be too tempting for Asterisk and other soft PBX users to resist setting it up in a college dorm or similar situation and using Vbuzzer til it drops. -- "Put down that coffee...coffee is for closers" |

yuri123 join:2005-03-11 North York, ON | reply to yuri123 Voicemail actually works, but only when using vbuzzer softphone. Using X-ten or Sipura, it just rings indefinitely. |
|
 | Does the softphone provide the VM, or does it just require the softphone to be logged in, if so, have a spare PC run the client on that and use what ever on your other systems... One thing I like about most sip providers is multiple SIP client registrations |
|
 | reply to Packetloss can some one walk me through seting this up with x-lite.!!! thanks |
|
 | I have not gotten it run on either my sipura2100 or x-lite.
can some one post detailed configuration.
thanks |

carrol join:2005-09-10 Atlanta, GA | Here are the settings for x-lite:
Under "System Settings" --> "SIP Proxy" --> "Default" Then set the parameters as follows: Enabled: yes Display Name: Your-VBuzzer-User-Name User Name: Your-VBuzzer-User-Name Authorization User: Your-VBuzzer-User-Name Password: Your-VBuzzer-Password (case specific) Domain/Realm: vbuzzer.com SIP Proxy: vbuzzer.com:80 Outbound Proxy: Use Outbound Proxy: Default Send Internal IP: Never Register: Always Voicemail SIP URL: Forward SIP URL:
Follow these settings and you will have vbuzzer working on xlite, but the audio quality is poor.
Just ask if you need more help.
Good Luck.
