As far as being faster, depends on your computer hardware and how fast cd-rom can rip digital audio as howie mentioned. Quality though will vary with the bit rate settings, the higher it is, the longer it will take. |

Windows Media Player doesn't have an MP3 encoder built into it. It encodes WMA files.
