Glad I stumbled upon this forum....
Located in Hartford, CT area and been having the reboot problems for the past few nights. Thought it might be spyware or virus gunking things up but all PC's are clean (having spent HOURS scanning and checking).
Yes, I have the SB4100 and a Linksys BFSR41 router (10Mbs WAN side). I'll check the modem logs tonight when I get home to see the firmware rev on the modem.
I have another router I can try too. Will report back success or failure. |

@comcast.net | Changed my router to a 10/100Mbs on the WAN side and I haven't had any reboots in hours. Problem solved!
Config is now: SB4100 SMC 7004VWBR v1

| Same issue here. Called comcast to tell them the issue. They deny doing anything to the modem. Told me to call linksys to troubleshoot. linksys knows of the issue and said the modem firmware needs to be downgraded. Called comcast back (different person), they told me they didnt do anything to the modem. told me to call motorola because they had to do the upgrade (i knew this wasnt possible and motorola confirmed this). Called comcast back - got a REAL cocky bastard. told me it must be my issue and they will do nothing to fix it. Fed up at this point, i ripped the guy a new one and told him to just close the ticket. went out and purchased a new router. fixed the issue. I wish i could cancel comcast, but i have no other broadband providers in my area. It is just amazing that you can prove the issue is theirs and they still deny it. oh well, i guess i needed to upgrade but it really burns me that they MADE me do it by denying the issue. |
