stltech join:2002-01-27 Florissant, MO | [Extension] BBR extension problem I have been running the BBR extension now for months, and I love it!
Unfortunately today it has started acting odd. It always shows that I have new updated posts. I double click on it, no new messages to see. The envelope goes away, but then when it repolls its back again.
I am using version 0.8.2
Any thoughts? --

Check here to see how many messages BBR is showing: »/browser/exten···atus.xml
Sometimes, for some reason, BBR shows messages when there are none. In that event you can go the settings for the extension and set "Topic Feed Offset" to offset that number. For example, for a while BBR was showing I had one updated topic when I didn't. I set the Topic Feed Offset to 1 and that took care of my problem. After some time BBR reset and I then had to change that number back to 0. -- God put me on this Earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now, I am so far behind I will never die. |

| reply to stltech I also was having problems with the extension. I first downloaded it from dslrnotify.mozdev.org, and it never showed updated topics, even the the bbr icon didn't show, but I downloaded it from addons.mozilla.org and its working right. At mozdev I choose the newest updated notifier. At least its working now. |

How can you tell in advance, which, if any, of the multitude of followed threads need(s) to be cleared? Early on when I had this problem I noticed going through followed that I may have cleared a forum where a followed topic had a n update. When going through followed I'll see the thread has the arrow indicating there were replies after the last time I viewed the thread. Since I've already been through most of the followed list whenever the problem of the notifier showing unread topics when there aren't any, I go through the day of and the days immediately preceding the problem. -- God put me on this Earth to accomplish a certain number of things. | reply to mers2 Thanks mers . There are so many followed threads, and still no efficient "Housekeeping" method of dealing with them.... hmmmm.... | reply to stltech If anyone has updated topics not equal to extension reported updated topics, please post. Ideally, leave your account with no updated topics visible and the extension saying there are N updated topics and i'll investigate.
If you had the problem but it has mysteriously fixed itself, I'd also like to know. |

My xml status page shows 2 topics whether I have 2 or 0. So the offset of 2 makes no difference.
I don't know what happens to the status/poller if I have three real updated topics because I haven't had that many.
Currentlt, I have none showing, and 2 on the XML page. -- Before replying to this post, please ensure you have read the whole thread and understand the context in which it was written. |

 | reply to justin Justin, does this now include "Stickied" topic threads? |

 | Justin, I have been experiencing intermittent, seemingly changing problems.
Before I just re-checked this thread, "Post Tracker's" Updated/Followed showed 3 threads (this thread, SE forum's stickied Katrina-II, and »[Extension] NoScript - Firefox Extension 1.1.2 ), while both »/browser/exten···atus.xml and DSLR Notifier showed none.
