don't worry AJ.. think about it sinced new york has so much apartment building and it is one of the world's top market, they would get it done as soon as possible. Just sinced there wasn't the technology to do so and was held back. but when most of the city's building is beening install with fios, other apartment building will follow. By then whole NYC will be wireed with fios! |

Any Fiber deployment for ANY carrier deploying such is widely public. People will see the fiber being rolled on the streets. There is no information deficiency anymore. If this was the case then Verizon would have to pull everything regarding FIOS period. That wony happen of course and neither will what you said.
You should look at the public maps even of Verizon AND RCN that the Washington Post did which showed each of its covered areas in the DC Metro market.
Nothing epfenning said is not commonly public available information or information that would have been public very soon. |

Great hopefully this will work with two-family homes too.
I have heard reports of people getting single ONTs installed for each floor, but one MDU would look cleaner than having two ONTs. Not like it matters to me though, I just want the damn service!

A question-
If Verizon goes ahead and pulls fiber through your building, do they own that fiber?
In the future, will other telcos or ISPs be able to provide service over that fiber like other telcos can provide pots over the building's copper now?

But the ones that do are on springdale and edinger, south of edinger, 2nd complex down. Beach and warner, right across the street from the new Lowes and Talbert and Beach, west of Beach. I dont know if any of those have a studio, I doubt it.
Casa Monterey, are those the ones on the northwest corner. Those are probably nicer than any of the ones mentioned. However they are getting ready to begin a big push to get more complexes wired up. I'll PM you if I hear anything. |

I dont understand what you mean, you say they dont want to run live fiber through an apartment, but yet you are saying they are putting the ONT inside????? WTF?
You need to run fiber through the home if you are putting the ONT inside.

Yeah, so like Owenmeany said, the Springdale Apartments are definitely wired up. It's on the northbound side of Springdale, just south of Edinger. I spoke to the guys fibering it a couple months ago. It is not as nice a place as Casa Monterey. Really small, no A/C, a bit dumpier in general. It is pretty cheap though.
The other place across from Lowes on Warner looks really tiny also.
I haven't seen the Talbert/Beach place yet, but I'll be checking it out. |

It's about 900-1000, last I checked (June or July of this year). The place is called "The Springdale Apartments". They have a sign out front, but the whole place is a bit inconspicuous and squashed between a couple other apartment complexes.

What we need is true competition in all markets where every provider has to compete based on Quality of Service and pricing NOT on hiding and manipulating information and trying to gain advantages over their competitor. While its understandable that an attorney would advise to stop talking on this subject because of competitive advantages and if there were any NDA agreements those have been unheld by the courts as well, the problem remains that each competitor is trying to gain an advantage as to market timing.
But DUE to the lack of information deficiency in todays marketplace, such DOESNT matter anymore because if epfenning didnt disclose it, I would have as not being a Verizon employee nor having any contractual obligations. All it does is pulls people like Epfenning away from letting the public whats going on and puts it through unofficial channels HOWEVER with the commonplace of digital cameras, such becomes irrelevant because the credibility of the source is not questioned. All it does is pulls away people like epfenning from talking.
