| reply to sortofageek SB4100 configurations vs. caps
respomar reported that his brother in Morton Grove IL had configuration MMFMMD on his SB4100 with caps of 6600/384.
Immediately after the SB4100-1.4.9.4-SCM02-NOSH firmware push on 8/16 I had configuration GGFGGD with caps of 4400/384.
On 8/17 the configuration was changed to GGFMMD and caps remained 4400/384.
On 8/22 at 9:28:41 PM CDT the SB4100-1.4.9.0-SCM00-NOSH firmware was pushed. I did not reboot my modem---Comcast initiated it. The configuration remained GGFMMD and caps remained 4400/384.
Reportedly on 8/25 all of IL has been upgraded and I have power cycled my SB4100, but I am still at configuration GGFMMD with caps of 4400/384. I do have Comcast cable TV.
What is the configuration which corresponds to 6600/384?
What is the configuration which corresponds to 8800/768?
Anyone in IL with an SB4100 have the new speeds? 6600/384 or 8800/768? What time did you get them? |

I did not experience the 'modem rebooting' problem reported by others. I have a D-Link DI-604 router. |

| reply to theboothsdad On 8/17, my brother's SB4100 was pushed SB4100-1.4.9.4-SCM02-NOSH firmware. Immediately afterward, the modem would reboot every 5 to 30 minutes. He has a Linksys BEFSR41 v2 hooked up, which has a 10mbit WAN port. Now, on 8/22, Comcast pushed SB4100-1.4.9.0-SCM00-NOSH firmware, and that fixed his reboot issues. He is on the silver tier 4400/384. This morning, 8/25 I had him reboot his modem to pull the new speed upgrade that went into effect today, and he now gets approx. 6300/350 on speed tests. So he definitely got the upgrade no problem. |
