AIM can't direct connect if NIS '05 enabled

I have a strange problem...

My internet service is a 5mbps/5mbps connection at the college I'm attending. The dorm room has network connection and plugged into my desktop computer.

I can communicate using AOL AIM instant messenger without
any problems. However, nobody can send me files/photos via the "direct connect" file transfer feature.

However, it works fine if I temporaritly disable my Norton Internet Security 2005 software. I tried changing Norton's personal firewall setting for AIM to "permit all".... still no luck...

Please help me figure this one out. Thanks!

Read the logs, figure which rules are preventing this, and make the approapriate changes. Rule based firewalls process rules in a certain order, and the first rule to effect the packet will be the last.

On AIM, Go to My AIM | Edit Options | Preferences | Direct IM | Firewall, and choose 'AOL Proxy Server Only,' or try different ones.

I have NIS2005 on one of my computers, and had to set it to that. Good luck.
