Thanks, GercekSeytan See Profile.

The changelog is up now at the link you posted.

I do believe that NoScript is more efficient now (up to 100x better performance, according to the changelog).

What a great extension!

Thanks GercekSeytan,

Giorgio really beefed up the blocking and page reload is much faster.

I wonder if there will be any change at www.forbs.com »[FireFox] "Script Causing Firefox to Run Slow" , with 1.1.2 , or will the site still force NS Whitelisting of parts of it's marketing components, in order to load and properly function?

Well Bobby P. I do not have enough to my name to visit Forbes.com so you are on your own to test it.

Other then that NoScript is working fine on the lesser sites I visit discounting this one of course.

I was skeptical installing this extension again after the less then stellar performance from the last version but I figure what the hay.

Haa! You and me both! They probably will let us stare in the windows and gawk occasionally, just as long as we keep moving right along......

I have too much going on in Fx now to risk it freezing and possibly crashing, or requiring closing down, so it will have to wait till latter. I have no interest in the site myself, just was wondering for those who do, and to see if it's NS, or the site.

If they let me in when I try latter, I will post back with any findings.

Does not install with Mozilla 1.7.11
I got an error message at the end of download process: "invalid registration in chrome component, installation failed"

I already have the 1.09 version installed (Mozilla), maybe it's the caveat ?
I don't know how to de-install the previous version.
Please help.

Because I haven't used nightlies in some time, I don't know but suspect that's the problem. I would ask those questions in the NoScript forum (click the second link in the original post). Sorry and good luck.

I actually stopped by Forbes for a brief visit and had no issues what so ever. They have a ton of js to approve plus their multiple cookies that I granted session only. I have no third party cookies.

I had to leave after a short time as rich people and their wares chafe my a-s.

Just tried the site and for me the same thing happen as before.

Go to forbes.com first time no problem.

Temporarily allowed forbes.com to NoScript, page reloads to 90% and hangs until script warning appears and click OK to abort script.

Temporarily allowed forbesauto.com to NoScript, page reloads without any further problems.

From the NoScript Mozillazine forum thread.

In Giorgio Maone's reply post to til132:

For those who are experiencing the same issue mehdi_c had with temporary sites, I've posted a fixed build on addons.mozilla.org.

What's this NoScript extension? Why are you guys so crazy about it? Why would I want NoScript? I mean Proxo takes care of that sort of stuff so why not just use Proxo? Flash can be blocked/toggled in Proxo or just not downloaded. I never install Flash or Java for Fx. I use IE if I need Java for speed tests and I have never needed Java for anything except my ISP's speed test. So what is so awesome about this NoScript extension? It would mess with Grease Monkey right?

Use what ever you want Mele.

NoScript gives greater control over the filter based Proxomitron IMHO.

Grease Monkey is fine until scripts stop working or are blocked by the Web Site dev which is happening more and more as Grease Monkey can break pages. Unless you know code the scripts are useless once they break and no one is there to fix them. Also the chance of Security Abuse has already been brought up.

I like greater control over what I block. Flashblock, Adblock, and NoScript are easy tools for anyone and you can see the tool working on a page.

Adblock uses filters and misses things, but you can train it as you use it.

Flashblock just blocks all flash until you allow it/white list.

NoScript allows you to control all js on a page at the same time allowing the user to see just how much js is being used.

Filter based blockers are fine for the avg. user as they do not have to do much work and do not have to be an urber geek. For mom and pop setups tools like popup blocker, adblock w/ updater and flashblock are fine for GP.
