| WEP key not working
I have a new powerbook and am having problems connecting to my 2wire1000SW wirelessly. I can see the network (and my neighbors for that matter) fine, but I keep getting a password error. I've used the default 64-bit encryption, specified my own 64-bit password and also tried th 128-bit encryption. But everytime I get a password error. Is there any sort of setting within the 2wire I might be overlooking that could be causing problems? Or any other ideas? |

| I think, but I can't remember, that the default wep key on the 2wire (printed on the label on the bottom, or on the side) needs a "$" in front of it on the mac for the powerbook to accept it correctly.
I'm not 100% certain, but try that and see if it works !

1 edit | Sweet mercy! That did it.
Now how was I supposed to know that? I didn't see anything like that in any documentation!
Thanks for the quick reply. |

It's documented somewhere in the Mac documentation. (Don't ask me where, because I have no idea)...
