Entered in my parents phone number. It has 3 new pricing tiers. Most expensive is 54.95 for 30/5. They have FIOS available over there. $69.95 is the new fee for install if you sign up for month to month instead of a year contract.

Up to 5 Mbps/2 Mbps $34.95 FREE

Up to 15 Mbps/2 Mbps $44.95 FREE

Up to 30 Mbps/5 Mbps $54.95 FREE

Bundle
Discount Up to 5 Mbps/2 Mbps $34.95 $69.95

Up to 15 Mbps/2 Mbps $44.95 $69.95

Up to 30 Mbps/5 Mbps $54.95 $69.95

Edit: Such was located in Long Island, NY in Nassau county. It is legitimate off the website by enter in my parents phone #.

Kick ass. Is that a local thing to compete with OOL, I wonder, or is it nationwide.

Edit: Price here is

1Year - Up to 30 Mbps/5 Mbps $179.95 FREE
1month - Up to 30 Mbps/5 Mbps $199.95 $69.95

Maybe they are just testing the waters. If that price were generally available, they wouldn't keep it a secret.

Yes that was in an OOL enabled market FYI.

I can order right now off the website and it is indeed legitimate.

All I know is this market is $54.95 for 30/5 and thats awesome. If they would bring it here, I would be sold.

Man I wish I wasn't moving to a condo next month. I love the 15/2 package I have and would upgrade to the 30/5 for the price now, but makes no sense since my folks and I are moving. If this price stays throughout the OOL market, it kills OOL and the 20/2 package that is being tested and may be rolled out. I love competition Now I just need my condo building to be wired for FIOS since I am staying put in Great Neck. MDUs in Nassau County haven't happened yet have they?

Thanks a lot for the image. Quick question, do you currently have Verizon DSL? Just trying to see how you get that price...

Thanks

No my parents do not have DSL. I ran their phone # through the system. It looks like the pricing is for Long Island, NY areas that are OOL enabled.

That is the BEST. DEAL. EVER.

NOW lets see the cable companies compete with THAT! $54.95/month is the SWEET SPOT for residential 30mbps/5mbps! I doubt that many people would signup for $59.99/month or up service, but $54.95 @ 10mbps ABOVE that of Optimum Onlines BETA 20mbps/2mbps ($45.95/month) makes it an EXCELLENT steal. I am SO set on FIOS, I will signup the first instance I hear about it.

I can confirm the pricing offer. I entered my neighbor's phone number here in North Woodmere LI and was quoted the $55 price for 30/5.

Also, today in the local paper (Newsday) there was a full page add:
"Cable is Unable"

It was a nice shot at OOL. I am so liking this!

NOCMan,

Well, I just checked a friend of mines number, and it says FIOS is available, but at the normal prices 179.99 or whatever high price it was. Wonder what we can do to get that...

nothing you can do except wait and see if they make this nationwide, it would be kind of un-fair if they didn't. If that pricing is not a mistake, then we should see this price go official within the next month.

It will be interesting to see how Verizon handles this for customers like myself that have had the service going on a year. I'm really wondering if they plan to increase the speed for the static business customers. We are always last to get those deals.

What would anyone ever do with 30/5?

You would think so, but many companies have "special" rates to areas with high competition, which do not become nationwide. Unfortunatley if VZ thinks OOL is a big enough threat over there in NY/NJ, then they will give this deal. However, here in TX, there is nothing out there that can really compare with 15/2 so VZ can sit back and keep the prices.

I guess they want to lock people in for the first year also. Who would bother paying the install fee for the month-to-month rate. I gotta see if I can get my FIOS bill reduced!

Can anyone near East Setauket confirm the same price? I have a friend there who said Fios was coming in a few weeks and I want to give him a heads up on the obvious package to pick.
