Re: Intel pro/wireless 2200 BG Problems.

The latest drivers still have Transmit Power problems. Intel seems unable or unwilling to fix this.

I tested the transmit power at different settings while running NetStumbler to check Signal/Noise dBm, and there was no difference at all in the signal strength between the 5 different power level settings. The only difference I notice is in the reported "CCX TPC" under "Details" in ProSet. But I don't think that even plays a factor unless you're connecting to a Cisco-based router with the Radio Management stuff.

Am I not testing correctly?

Install this install that reinstall windows. What the?!!//n th/ are you all doing? It should be clear by now that the hardware is buggy. Go buy a PCIMCA card and disable that piece of garbage and pray that its not the architecture on the motherboard.

Let's go waaay out on a limb here, and assume that some folks with these cards already broke the budget to get the laptop and don't have the disposable income to shell out for another wireless device - to say nothing of their (very reasonable) expectation that the one they bought should work as advertised.

To any such folks reading or posting in this thread, your response might be seen as, well, let's say less than helpful.

No more than any other miniPCI card.
