Blank MyYahoo.com screenI've looked through the archives and perhaps I've been hijacked, but I suspect that I've some how messed up my hosts files or NIS 2005 settings. I can access my yahoo home page at work, so I think it is just the home PC that is the problem. I'm running XP home with all updates, NIS 2005 with all up dates, access through IE with all updates.
Yahoo home page seems to come and go. If you can get me started on where to look, I'd appreciate it.

check that you're not blocking javascript in either nis or IE
if you disable nis does it work? if you rename host file does it work?

It does not work if I disable NIS. I'll try re-naming Host file and check Java script when I get home tonight. Thanks for the reply.

I have been having the same problem for about a week now. Here is my post in the General section. » Problems logging into My Yahoo? So far nothing has fixed the problem. I have emailed Yahoo support, and they are working on it for me. My problem is on their end, as my wife has no problems signing into My Yahoo on the same computer. |

Yup. That's exactly my problem too. Please post back whatever Yahoo winds up finding out.
thanks.

I had the same problem on Sept.3. I posted in the SBC forum: » What happened to My Yahoo?. The next day it worked again so it couldn't have been anything that I did. Had to be on their end. |

I have this problem also (happening for about a week or so now).
"My Yahoo" blank page is displayed with either IE6 or Firefox 1.0.6.
Yahoo Mail (sign-in works OK through Mail page) & Yahoo main pages display fine, as do all other web pages I've tried over the last week.
Yahoo tech. support replied with an automated response that doesn't address my problem - I emailed them back, but no followup so far on their part.
Running Windows XP w. SP2, if I go through Control Panel, Network Connections, select my Comcast HSI connection, select TCP/IP, select Properties and specify to use a specific DNS server (today I tried "64.81.45.2" - from list which can be found in these forums) - this solves the problem (for both IE6 and Firefox 1.0.6).
I've emailed Comcast tech. support, but no reply yet. |

Well it seems like the problem has been fixed.
I have had no problem logging into My Yahoo the past 2 days. |

I can confirm that My Yahoo wasn't working the other day. I had my home page set to there at the time, and when I went there, I got a browser timeout. It has since been fixed.
I've seen a few other sites I visit have minor hiccups like this at times, so this isn't new. |

Thanks for the advice to wait - before I started major "fixes"! Indeed, MyYahoo is back. Don't know why or how, but I suspect those of you that felt this was a Yahoo problem were correct.
thanks for the help again -as always.

I don't know if my 2 cents is worth anything but when I go on the Canadian chat area in room 20 there is some hacker that gets his kicks by shutting down my yahoo. This person has sent messages that just contained the font # . The message area is totaly full of the font. The result is the chat room closes. If this hacker can do this, what more can the idiot be doing while on a yahoo chat? the hackers yahoo name is stiffler288 |
